Best BBQ Chicken Recipe

Ingredients:

BBQ Chicken

1 whole chicken (cut into 10 pieces)
2 tbsps paprika
2 tbsps chili powder
salt and pepper
2 cups BBQ sauce

Before we go to the real stuff, let me give you some tips to make your chicken bbq experience truly different from what you have been doing so far. If you want to have a really tender, juicy chicken, brine it with saltwater for half an hour before grilling or marinate it with buttermilk overnight.

Also, remember to put the bbq sauce when the chicken is almost done in the grill. With this, you can avoid having burnt or scorched sauce which can create a bitter taste and a mediocre presentation of your chicken barbeque.

If you are worrying that this might lead to a tasteless chicken, don’t worry. Sprinkle and rub paprika and chili powder to the chicken before grilling. Just add 2 teaspoons of salt and ½ teaspoon of pepper for additional seasoning. These will be the base of its flavor which will be enhanced by the barbeque sauce which you will apply in the final 5-6 minutes of cooking.

With a pre-heated grill on medium heat, lightly oil the grates. Then, grill the chicken for about 15-20 minutes if you don’t have much time to spare. (But if you do, slow cooking for 2 hours in slow heat would also be a good option.) Turn it often and move it in cooler parts of the grill if it’s browning quickly.

During its final 5 minutes, baste chicken with barbeque sauce. Serve it with the remaining cup of bbq sauce. This also goes well with salads!

BBQ Sauce

1 24-ounce bottle of ketchup (about 3 cups)
1 cup cider vinegar
1/2 cup unsulfured molasses
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
1 cup water
1 tablespoon paprika
1 tablespoon onion powder
1 tablespoon mustard powder
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon ground pepper
1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper

Now, for the bbq sauce… Combine all the ingredients in a medium saucepan and bring it to a boil. Bring it down to a medium heat until it simmers and the sauce has thickened. Let it cool first before using. Then serve it with the chicken you’ve prepared earlier.
