Best BBQ Pork Recipe

Today we’re going to cover the topic which suits first-timers in perfecting the art of barbeque! The one we’ll have today has an oriental taste. If you’re a little bored with the typical sauce which you always prepare, this one is for keeps. Let’s begin!
Secret Recipe…
2 star anise, crushed
1 tbsp Hoi-sin sauce
2 tbsps light soy sauce
2 tbsps brown sugar
2 tbsps honey
1 ½ tsp dry sherry
2 tsps grated ginger
1 large clove garlic
1 ½ tsps red food coloring
Before we start, you can also substitute star anise with a Chinese five spice powder in case the former is not readily available.
Alright, when you have all ingredients, just combine all of them and mix well. When it’s evenly mixed, pour it over the pork (1 kilogram) and cover it. Overnight refrigeration is best recommended to make sure that all flavors will be absorbed by the meat. Turn it at several times to make an even distribution of flavor. You can also set aside some marinade which you can use to brush the pork.
Next day, remove it from the fridge. Thaw it properly and when ready, barbeque the pork for about 15 minutes. For the remaining marinade, brush it on the meat. And, we’re done! You can serve this with Jasmine rice if you want. I bet you won’t get enough of it and you’ll try this again in a matter of days!
